I kind of got tired last october/december stretch visiting Tucson, Sicily, Pisa, and then Waterloo. Sure, it was nice, but it left me a little unmotivated to look for new conferences in the short term future. Added to the point that I will be traveling anyway for work reasons, I look at the conferences lists and feel very unattracted to it by now. And, by the way, I hate that networking is the best way to be succesful in physics, but, sure, this is also true for almost any other job on earth. I will focus on finishing the many (last count nine) projects I am involved in right now. Specially since this next thursday I have a meeting to kick-start a new collaboration project with Ivan Deutsch from UNM.

Apart from trying to finish the many projects I am involved, I am preparing the house to sell it. Not a lot of time to do new physics, let alone blog!

I was talking to other postdocs today. There's a high percentage of depressed people, in particular about the job prospects this year and in the future. Some arguments about leaving physics make some sense, like those of http://philip.greenspun.com/careers/women-in-science">this article (minus the exaggerations of course). It's difficult to be passionate about desperately looking for a low paying job, but it has some benefits, I think...
